About Muffins

Hi! I’m Keri, the owner of Muffin’s Monograms (MM), and I’m so happy you’re here!

I was a middle school teacher for 5 years prior to starting Muffin’s. I had my first child in the middle of my 5th year of teaching (Dec 2021), and I hated having to go back to teach after my maternity leave. I hated it even more when I had to go back teaching after spending the summer with my son.

That first day back of my 6th school year, I decided I was done with teaching, and my goal was to be a SAHM. I knew I would need to find something to do to bring in some kind of income. During the first couple of months of that school year (22/23), I had a very close and great friend of mine pitch the idea of starting up an embroidery business. At first, I thought it was crazy, but by October, my first embroidery machine had arrived. I was 110% invested. During my 6th year of teaching, I was teaching by day and embroidering by night. I was determined to make this work, and here we are almost 4 years later thriving. I left teaching at the end of the school year and became the SAHM I’ve dreamt of being since I had my son, all the while running my small business, Muffin’s Monograms.

Many thanks to my close friend, Catherine for helping with ideas at the beginning stages and letting me practice on lots of things for her! And I’m so thankful to have my wonderful husband, Kenneth, support and encourage me on a daily basis. An ode to my son, for being the reason behind Muffin’s.
